Fall maintenance

The work completed this fall is:

  1. Approximately 3 miles of spot cleaning from potato ridge downstream

  2. Cleaned and lined the canal from the end of the potato ridge siphon to the potato ridge road.

  3. Installed 6 inch drain pipe and rock along the Linderman siphon to create a french drain to remove the water leaking from the joints. Replaced the drain valve for the siphon and tied it and the french drain pipe together in 6 inch PVC and ran it about 800 feet west into a draw so no further water damage will occur in Shannon’s alfalfa and it will dry up the boggy area created by the leak which will be safer for cattle.

  4. Cleaned the check/dump on the comstock property so it can be used to control flooding to the entrance of the Linderman siphon.

  5. Cleaned the canal from the beginning of the shell canal(flume) downstream approximately a mile.

  6. Mcdonald ditch was cleaned upstream of the shell canal flume to the highway and the dump in Reeves gulch is now operable.

  7. Thank you Ken Rempel for donating your excavator, semi and time to do the spot cleaning and all the ditching on the Linderman siphon. Thank you JT Collingwood for cleaning and lining the canal.
